BEGGNING OF SOUTH INDIAN MOVIE INDUSTRY

In 1912 the first Indian film, "Raja Harishchandra," was made in Bombay and in 1916 the first South Indian feature film, "Kechakvatham" (Destruction of Keechkan), was made in Madras. Both were based on stories from famous myths. The first studio in Madras, the India Film Company, was established in 1916. A grand exhibition was organized in Madras in 1909 to celebrate the visit of King George V. Its significant fascination was the screening of short movies with sound. A British company imported a Krone megaphone made from a film projector, with a gramophone attached to a disc containing a pre-recorded sound, and playing the two simultaneously, producing picture and sound simultaneously. Were. Were. Were. Were. Were. Were. Were. was doing. However, there was no synchronous dialogue. Raghupati Venkaiah Naidu, a successful photographer, took over the equipment after the exhibition and set up a tent cinema near the Madras High Court. R. Venkaiah, laden with funds, built a permanent theater called the Gaiety Theater in the Mount Road area in 1912. It was the first to screen films in Madras on a full-time basis. The theater was later closed for commercial development. Although developed independently over a long period of time, globalization, along with the gross exchange of film actors and technicians, helped shape this new identity in Indian cinema. The Startup is directed by the South Indian Movie Office of Commerce.

The combined revenue of the Telugu and Tamil film industries is about 40% of the total revenue of Indian cinema. This 6,000 feet film marked the birth of a cultural king - Tamil cinema. The characters spoke Tamil, but with no soundtrack, the title card displayed spoken words on the screen. Often, a person known as the 'interpreter' stands near the screen and reads the card out loud. The solo pioneer Modular made six more films from his studio in Kilpauk and later Vellore and made a political issue by naming his studio India Film Company.
